Here’s a little secret about a Key West vacation: some of the best meals of your trip won’t require leaving the resort. At Blue Flamingo, we do dining our way — strong drinks, great food, and lots of it, all served poolside with your feet in the sun and a frozen cocktail never more than a few steps away.

Between two signature tiki bars, a food truck packing more flavor than seems physically possible, and a backyard built for all-day feasting, there’s something delicious happening from your first morning coffee to your last late-night bite. We’ve done the taste-testing (it’s a tough job) so you know exactly where to land and what to order. Here’s your guide to the best eats right here on property.

Rum Row: The Main Event

Our tiki-inspired poolside grog shop is where sun-soaked days turn into spirited nights without anyone having to move very far. Rum Row pairs a full bar with a food truck kitchen, so island flavor comes in both liquid and edible form — frozen cocktails and cold local beers on one side, island-inspired bites on the other. Order the conch fritters, the Key Lime Chicken Club, or a Fruiti di Key West pizza, and settle in for weekly live music, poolside DJs, and a round of Jenga or cornhole in The Backyard.

The vibe: Tropical playground. Tiki drinks. All-day energy. Best for: Long, lazy pool days that roll straight into the evening. Don’t miss: The signature fishbowl cocktail — as much a photo op as a drink.

Insider Tip: Rum Row’s happy hour runs daily from 4–6pm. Time your afternoon dip accordingly.

Toasted Coconut: Calmer Waters

If Rum Row is the party, Toasted Coconut is the easy morning after — our second poolside spot, known for calmer waters and a menu that appreciates the finer things. It opens early and serves all day, which makes it the go-to for breakfast, brunch, and bites between dips. Think island-inspired plates, tropical cocktails, and the kind of unhurried pace where a mimosa turns into lunch turns into an afternoon frozen drink while you debate whether to leave the resort at all.

The vibe: Refreshing and uncomplicated. Sunny mornings, laid-back lunches. Best for: Breakfast, brunch, and the soft landing after a big night. Don’t miss: The Fried Chicken Sandwich — quietly one of the best bites on property.

Morning Tip: Toasted Coconut opens at 8am daily, with happy hour from 2–4pm. Start slow, finish strong.

The Food Truck: Big Flavor, Tiny Kitchen

Assorted tropical dishes, salads, burgers, and cocktails served poolside at Blue Flamingo Resort Key West.

We’re still not sure how they crammed so many flavors into such a small kitchen — but we’re not asking questions. Parked poolside as part of the Rum Row experience, the Food Truck turns out tacos, chips, and island-inspired plates all day long. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s exactly what you want when you’re not ready to trade your lounge chair for a table.

The vibe: Grab-and-go done island-style. Best for: A quick, flavor-packed lunch without missing a minute of pool time. Don’t miss: The tacos — best enjoyed with a lime wedge and zero plans.

The Backyard Pool & Social Club: Feast, Play, Repeat

Outdoor lawn game area with cornhole, bocce courts, and Adirondack chairs at Blue Flamingo Resort Key West.

The Backyard is where it all comes together — two sparkling pools, shaded cabanas, endless lawn games, and a full lineup of comfort food to fuel it all. Picture the ultimate tailgate party: loaded burgers, saucy chicken, and ice-cold drinks, served up between rounds of mini golf, ping pong, cornhole, and shuffleboard. Nightly programming keeps the energy going with happy hour, live island music, karaoke nights, and weekend DJs.

Not staying with us but still hungry for the scene? Daily pool passes and luxury cabanas (day passes for up to six, plus cabana food-and-drink service) make The Backyard your home away from home.

The vibe: Playful, social, and always a little bit of a party. Best for: Groups, all-day hangs, and anyone who likes lawn games with their lunch. Don’t miss: Booking the Karaoke Cabana — a retro Airstream turned private poolside stage.

Group Tip: Reserve a poolside cabana ahead of time on busy weekends — they include day passes for the crew and service right to your seat.

Feast Blue Flamingo-Style

From a sunrise coffee at Toasted Coconut to a fishbowl cocktail and conch fritters at Rum Row as the DJ kicks off, eating well at Blue Flamingo is less a plan and more a way of life. Everything’s poolside, everything’s easy, and the only real decision is which frozen drink comes next.

Hungry yet? Pull up a stool, grab a lounge chair, and let the afternoon come to you.
